Mary Breach
“I love wild places and a simple way of life. Last Spring I began to rise early and paint with the Dawn Chorus. These paintings and the work on wooden panels done at the same time are like a wake up call for us all. They remind me of what is possible when we all work together and how bright our future can be.”
20 Years ago Mary Breach was discovered by some of Dublin’s most prestigious galleries. Her career went from strength to strength as collectors at home and abroad eagerly pursued her work. Though mainly self taught, she holds diplomas in art history and art & design.
“This work led very naturally into the Paradise Paintings which were inspired by the colour and vitality of Trinidad where I had the good fortune to spend time last winter. Simple drawings of seed pods, leaves and stones take on new meaning as life itself seems to speak!”
Mary has exhibited extensively at the Oisin Gallery in Dublin in the 80s and also at the RHA over the years. A creative block in the 90s provided time for hugely inspirational travels to Alaska and the Yukon. Mary has since settled in Sneem, Co. Kerry.
