Biography:
Born in Dublin in 1936, and having lived and worked in London, Germany and Switzerland, Bourke is now based in the west of Ireland. He studied Fine Art at the National College of Art & Design, Dublin, and also at St. Martin’s School of Art & Design, London.
Bourke is a member of Aosdána. Collectors include: Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery of Art, Dublin; National Self-Portrait Collection, University of Limerick; Ulster Museum, Belfast.
Bourke’s acclaimed career has seen his work represent Ireland in the Biennale De Paris of 1965, and in Rosc 1988.
